Register US

A passion project turned viral campaign that earned over 30,000 signatures and coverage from some of the country's top news outlets in less than a week.

In the days after the 2016 election, my friends and I created Register US, a campaign to fight Trump’s plan for a Muslim registry.

We spent $36 to create the website and launched the campaign with a few posts on Facebook. In less than 24 hours, we had thousands of signatures. By the end of the first week, we had grown our list to more than 30,000 signatures and earned coverage from ReutersMashablePaper MagazineBustle and others.

Brand

A simple, action-oriented brand to unite Americans in the fight against the President’s plan for a Muslim registry.

‘Register US’ is a call to action for all Americans to stand together to protect both our neighbors and our most fundamental rights.

Website and messaging

We developed a simple website to communicate our message and gather pledges. The site included social media graphics to encourage social sharing and  gave supporters the opportunity to donate to relevant organizations.

We kept messaging positive and inclusive in order to counteract the fear, negativity and divisiveness that characterized the country in the days after the election.
